The Fit Stuff

WiiFit has arrived, apparently with luck, as they're hard to find now. My mom and brother bought it, but I get to use it... woo.

My review would boil down to: It's a great tool in your belt as you try to lose weight and get healthier. For someone who's already a regular exerciser, and isn't trying to change habits, it's probably not as useful. But the daily weight/bmi tracking, the ability to set goals, and the variety of exercises amounts to a good check on your own habits.

If nothing else, you get on it everyday, and weight/bmi is graphed, so you can tangibly see the changes you've been making.

There's yoga, strength training, aerobics, and balance games. The balance games are where you're less focused on exercise, but their point is more to help you develop control of your core areas, good center of balance. The yoga is kind of a nice beginners guide, though you could be doing the positions slightly off, and be less effective. I haven't done strength training, but a few of the aerobic exercises did manage to get my sedentary heart pumping.

It's not the silver bullet, the magic pill, that will change all your ways, but its certainly an easy way to keep track and start out with small steps towards your goals.
